Is my dog welcome to the wedding?

We strongly believe mans best friend is just as important as your two legged guests at your special day! We also have some dog friendly bedrooms (subject to £20 additional fee per night).

Can we have a civil ceremony at the venue?

The Gallery & the Herb Garden is our licenced ceremony room which can host up to 75 guests. We also have many beautiful local churches if you would prefer a religious service.

Do you offer outdoor ceremonies?

Whilst we do not have a license to hold outdoor ceremonies, we can host humanist or non-legal ceremony in our grounds and gardens.

What is your closing time?

Our finishing time for music and the bar is 12pm.

What is your capacity?

Can we choose our own suppliers?

Absolutely! Whilst we have a little black book full of our favourite suppliers, you are most welcome to source your own to personalise your day exactly how you please.

Do I need to book an appointment to view the venue?

Yes, with our events manager. We have various events taking place throughout the year, therefore need to guarantee you can view the whole venue and that someone is available to answer your questions.

Can we have music at our wedding?

You can bring your own background music (on a phone or ipod/ipad) and exclusive use weddings are welcome to supply a DJ or live music to entertain your guests until midnight.

Can I make a provisional booking for my wedding?

Yes, we are more than happy to make a short-term provisional reservation whilst you make a final decision.

Can we get a discounted rate for rooms on the wedding night, or night prior/following?

We can offer discounted rates on the night of your wedding for exclusive use Weddings. Guests are welcome book rooms the night before and/or the night after, though these will be at our standard rates advertised.

What deposit do I need to pay and what is the cancellation policy?

To secure your wedding booking with us, a 30% non-refundable deposit and signed contract is required. Our cancellation policy is detailed in our terms and condition which can be obtained on request.

Will there be any other events taking place on the same day as my wedding?

Booking an exclusive use wedding at the Elms ensures you exclusivity of the hotel, excluding the spa.

When hosting a non-exclusive wedding, your dining room will be private for your use only and the hotel will remain open for residents and diners.

Is confetti allowed?

Yes, preferable biodegradable please and it can only be thrown outside in the gardens.

Can we bring our own wine, if so do you charge corkage?

Yes, and there is a corkage fee of £15 per bottle of wine, £20 per bottle of sparkling and £30 per bottle of champagne.

Are external caterers permitted?

We allow sweet carts, candy floss carts, ice cream bikes and other items along this theme only.

Do you allow candles, and if so do you provide them?

We do not provide candles but they are permitted in the hotel providing that they are in secure holders such as sticks, candelabras or lanterns.

Is there somewhere we can use to get ready prior to the wedding?

Many couples book their bedroom for night prior to the wedding (subject to availability) to ensure that they have all morning to get ready at the hotel.

What disabled facilities do you have?

The hotel ground floor is fully accessible with wide doorways and ramp access. We have a disabled toilet within the main house and toilet/changing room within the spa.  We have one ground floor disabled access bedroom with wet room bathroom in the coach house annex. The swimming pool area is accessible via a lift with a hoist available for use of the pool.
