There is a wide array of activities and attractions nearby, from the Kidderminster Safari Park to the Severn Valley Railway with its superb museum. Take a magical steam train journey through the rolling Worcestershire countryside, or keep things simple and discover your own private dingly dell for a picnic.
Nearby Witley Court has exquisite gardens, lakes and fountains, whilst within half an hour's drive you'll find lovely old towns such as Bewdley, Ludlow, Tenbury Wells, Bromyard and even the city of Worcester.
From The Elms, the lively city of Birmingham is just under an hour away and thrumming with activities. Head to the National Sea Life Centre with its giant turtles and hammerhead sharks, or visit the city’s many great museums and galleries for some culture. Take some time to enjoy some of Birmingham's vast shopping facilities, or fill the energy gap in its bars, cafés and restaurants.
Worcester Cathedral is always worth a visit and you can climb the tower from March to October (Saturdays only and events permitting) for a glorious city view. And the Commandery is open all year round for an interesting step back in history.
