Things to do in Worcestershire

The Elms is a perfect base for exploring Worcestershire, from the stunning Malvern Hills (one for the energetic) to the fun-filled West Midlands Safari Park. Be a mountaineer in training, or get up close and personal with wild beasts (and not just the ones in your car).

There is a wide array of activities and attractions nearby, from the Kidderminster Safari Park to the Severn Valley steam railway with its superb museum. Take a magical steam train journey from Kidderminster through the countryside to Bridgnorth, or keep things simple and discover your own private dingly dell for a picnic.

Nearby Witley Court has exquisite gardens, lakes and fountains, while at the family-friendly Rays Farm children can interact with the livestock and spot wild animals and birds on the woodland walk.

From the Elms, the lively city of Birmingham is only 30 miles away and thrumming with activities. Head to the National Sea Life Centre with its giant turtles and hammerhead sharks, or visit the city’s many great museums and galleries for some culture. Try out one of Birmingham’s two indoor climbing walls, or fill the energy gap in its bars, cafes and restaurants.

A little further away is Drayton Manor Theme Park in Tamworth; a day-out destination for older thrill seekers as well as the little ones. Under-fives will love meeting Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends at Thomas World.
